monday mix - LDF

I know a lot of you will be going to the London Design Festival one way or another, whether you're exhibiting, visiting or just following along with blog reports and newsletters from home it's exciting times for the design community.

I know I'm looking forward to going for a couple of days later in the week, so to get us all in the mood I thought I'd share some LDF snippets of some of the events I'm really hoping to get to see.

Hyde Stacking Stool at Design Junction

I'm very much looking forward to Design Junction where there are lots of Patternbooth favourites set to show. I love this collaboration with cool furniture folk Assemblyroom and Bailey Hills who you may remember I featured last year.  This is a preview of one of the new printed wool fabrics Bailey Hills is currently developing, and this brilliant stool is hot off the press. Head to the Assembly Room's blog to read all about it.

Now you would expect Arts Thread to be involved with the LDF and you won't be dissapointed. They have selected 50 graduates to showcase their work at DESIGNERSBLOCK Edition 16 which will be taking place at the Southbank Centre. I haven't been to DESIGNERSBLOCK before, but I know I'm looking forward to seeing what they have on offer this year.

Here are two of my favourites, Anisah Saeed and Rosanne Bannister.  Click here to see who else is showing, as well as find to a link through to Anisah and Rosanne's portfolios.

I'm looking forward to heading down to Tent again where you will find heaps of talent, including Patternbooth alumni like Seven Gauge Studios, Parris Wakefield Addtions, Erica Wakerly, JiB, Room39, Sian Elin and Tamasyn Gambell. Now that's my idea of a great afternoon out, I can't wait to find out what they've all been up to since I last talked to them.

These are just the main stops in my over full schedule that takes in other shows, stores and exhibitions...including 100% Design, the exhibition at CAMAC Design and the Heals party - and all in two days. I know it's really too much to fit in but I'm going to give it my best show. I'm going to have to wear some comfortable shoes thats for sure!
